One would normally require jailbreaking a device to change the shape of iOS folders, but there is someone who has found a tweak to get the home-screen folders look cool and round by just changing the wallpaper on the device. Yes, we are not kidding. Check out the video below:
A YouTube user videosdebarraquito shows in one of the videos a trick which involves a very small image to be set as the home screen wallpaper. The image needs to be sufficiently small, the ones downloaded in this case are of size 3×3. Once you have downloaded a small image, there are two options to set it as the wallpaper- go to Settings > Wallpaper > Choose a New Wallpaper > Camera Roll and select the small image, or head over to the Photos app, open the small image, tap the Share icon and select ‘Use as Wallpaper’.
Don’t have any 3×3 image in your Camera Roll? Not a problem, go to this heyeased post and download some ready-made ones. As per the post, the trick should run on any iOS device running iOS 9.3. We tested it on iPad Mini, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus and it worked perfectly fine.
Having talked about it, we have absolutely no clue about what makes a small-sized wallpaper change the shape of the iOS folder. However, it may or may not change the shape of all the iOS folders. Doing it on the iPad too did not show consistent behaviour. But then, this is no feature, and hence, not a bug.
Just in case you manage to figure out the technicalities behind this, do let us know in the comments below and we’d be happy to share it across with our readers.
