Google Phone to make war with Apple iPhone

A new report now claims that the search engine giant is now working to prepare its own hardware for smartphone. This suggests that Google and Apple would then be in a direct competition in the smartphone market. That should be fun though. More competition eventually leads to more and more features reaching the consumers.

With the help of Huawei, LG and Motorola, Google has till date made it a point to provide a stock Android experience to the users. However, a new smartphone built by Google with the pure Android experience would make it a good face-off between Apple iPhone and Google Phone.

According to The Telegraph, Google is already in conversation with mobile operators regarding the launch of what may be called a Google Phone.

Android is still the most used mobile operating system in the world and what bothers Google is the inconsistent Android experience with so many smartphones of different price range giving different experience to the users. With Google aiming to build its own smartphone hardware, it would make a much better blend of the software and hardware. That would also lead to Google competing with Apple in the high-end smartphone zone where the profit margins are quite high.

“The new device, which will be released by the end of the year according to a senior source, will see Google take more control over design, manufacturing and software,” claims the British newspaper.

There is no word yet though on what would happen to the Nexus family in that case. We’ll have to wait and watch until the Google Phone makes a debut later this year.
